Divine Chaos

7 May 2009

Collectively we would agree that this is a time of chaos and crisis. As traumatic and devastating as it has been for far too many human beings, there is a greater truth or wisdom that we need to acknowledge, as the chaos is not just a random occurrence barreling through for the sole purpose of making our lives intolerable. As I mentioned in a previous article titled “Sacred Contracts”, we have sacred contracts in place that help us to animate the fullest, most glorious expression of ourselves. Consider that you have a contract with the divine to be present here on earth at this particularly difficult, chaotic time and it is just what you needed to bring forth your gifts, contribute to the contracts of those around you, and, on an even larger scale, to help America fulfill its contract. Look at the guidance we all followed during the last presidential process and election. The two democratic candidates represented repressed, yet, very strong capable forces within our population. We assisted these two individuals in fulfilling their contracts and we assisted in strengthening the collective contracts of women and African Americans.

Chaos is always a messenger. The challenge is finding the messages amidst the rubble. As I observe what is happening around us, of course, I see so much sadness and despair, however, I also see an opening of our compassionate hearts. We are reaching out to others and interacting face to face. As we lose our jobs and home, we are seeking and finding the support in friends, extended families and neighbors. We had lost meaningful connections with other human beings. We need to support and to be of service to each other. I believe most of us are predisposed to exude compassion and kindness. Due to our internal chaos, which, by the way is reflected in the external chaos, we have lost the connection to our internal goodness. Our minds and our hearts are at war. Let’s make peace with us and have that peace reflect itself onto the external world.
